Is hypnotherapy effective?

👉 In 1970 a groundbreaking meta-analysis of hypnosis research studies was conducted by Alfred A. Barrios.

👉1,018 studies and various articles on hypnosis were compared. He also compared 899 articles on psychoanalytic therapy and 355 articles on behavioural therapy.

👉 Barrios noted that hypnotherapy stood out amongst the crowd with the highest rate of overall lasting success of the different therapies.

👉 Hypnotherapy had an incredible 93% success rate after only 6 sessions when compared to a 72% success rate with behavioral therapy with an average of 22 sessions when it comes to solving various emotional and behavioral issues.

👉 Psychotherapy had on average a 38% success rate with a huge 600 session average.

What do psychologists say about hypnosis?

👉 In 2001 The British Psychological Society commissioned a working group to write a formal report on hypnosis.

👉 “Enough studies have now accumulated to suggest that the inclusion of hypnotic procedures may be beneficial in the management and treatment of a wide range of conditions and problems encountered in the practice of medicine, psychiatry and psychotherapy.”  (BPS, 2001)

👉 “Hypnosis and the practice of self-hypnosis may significantly reduce general anxiety, tension and stress in a manner similar to other relaxation and self-regulation procedures.”
“Likewise, hypnotic treatment may assist in insomnia in the same way as other relaxation methods.” (BPS, 2001)

Frequently asked questions

For clients who have deep rooted issues like imposter syndrome, social anxiety, lack of self confidence, fear of public speaking or anything similar, it’s possible to reframe those at a sub conscious level.

Clients are put into hypnosis because it bypasses conscious filters.

The events that have caused them to feel / act how they do are identified, dismantled and reframed.

Clients are given a personalised audio to listen to for 30 days and this trains their mind to let go of past behaviour and create new positive behaviour based on what they asked for.

A package of three sessions is recommended in most cases for deep rooted issues however for specific issues a 30 day accelerator programme is available.

A popular option for clients is to get a mindset breakthrough using an IMPACT Transformation package (usually 3 sessions) and then to use that breakthrough to start creating actions and doing something which previously they would not have even attempted.

An example might be a client who is afraid to charge their worth. After doing the IMPACT sessions we can begin coaching to develop their pitching skills and approach now that the block holding them back is gone from their mindset.
